About Burana Tower

The Burana complex includes a restored brick minaret, archaeological remains, a small museum and a field of balbals, or Turkic stone figures. The site belonged to Balasagun, an important medieval city on the Silk Roads and a capital of the Karakhanid state. Visitors can usually climb the narrow internal staircase for views across the Chüy Valley.
