Your journey begins with a morning pickup from your hotel in Bishkek. First, drive to Kyzart Village (approximately 4-5 hours), the gateway to Song-Kol Lake. Along the way, the route passes through scenic mountain landscapes and traditional villages.
Upon arrival, enjoy a hearty lunch at a local guesthouse in Kyzart. After lunch, meet your horse and horseman for the next two days.
About your horseman: He doesn't speak English; however, he is a perfect horseman – highly experienced, patient, and skilled with horses. In addition, he knows the mountain trails perfectly. Your guide will translate important information, while hand signals also work well.
No horse riding experience is required! Therefore, beginners can feel comfortable because the horses are calm and well-trained.
Next, begin your horseback journey to Song-Kol Lake (5-6 hours). As you climb, the trail crosses alpine landscapes and reaches the Tuz Ashuu Pass (3,400m). From there, enjoy breathtaking views of the turquoise lake set in a bowl of green meadows and surrounded by snow-capped peaks.
Afterward, descend to the lakeshore and settle into a traditional yurt camp for the night. In the evening, enjoy a hearty Kyrgyz dinner and spectacular stargazing.
Early in the morning, wake to witness the sunrise over Song-Kol Lake as the first light touches the water. After breakfast, enjoy a gentle 3-4 hour ride back to Kyzart Village. Then, bid farewell to your horses and horseman.
Next, enjoy lunch in Kyzart before beginning the drive back to Bishkek (approximately 4-5 hours).
Finally, the tour concludes with drop-off at your hotel.
